Published author, university instructor and cyber warfare professional. Matthew is a graduate of US Air Force Weapons School and an expert instructor in cyber warfare operations. He is responsible for future concepts and applications, and was instrumental in creating the 1st ever accredited cyber simulator. He is a proven leader, creative thinker and innovator focused on supporting the next-gens cyber experts.
Cognitive Engineer and Military Intelligence and Cyber Warfare veteran. Stoney is the Founder and President of the Bulls Run Group and a research professor and principal advisor for research and innovation at Virginia Tech. Stoney has served as a Strategic Policy Research Fellow with the RAND Arroyo Center, and is a former Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral Science and Leadership at the United States Military Academy. Stoney is a graduate of the Army War College and former Cyber Fellow at the National Security Agency.
Edgar Garay is an IT Specialist (Security) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Edgar has over two decades of experience in the Assessment and Authorization of Federal IT systems, previously working to improve the security posture of high visibility systems at the US Department of Transportation and the Veterans Benefits Administration prior to joining NIST. He has been part of CYBRTeams since 2018 where he has taught and mentored dozens of students in Operating System hardening, vulnerability analysis, capture-the-flag (CTF) techniques, and general good cyber-citizenship. In his spare time, Edgar enjoys gamification-based challenges and has participated in CTFs such as SANS NetWars, SANS BootUp CTF, Pros vs Joes at BSides DC, CISA President's Cup, and in 2019 was part of a team that placed in the top 5 of the SOHOpelessly Broken event in the Internet of Things (IoT) village at DEFCON.
